Netflix has another Christmas season’s surprise for us as the streaming service announces a new series. The streaming giant announces that it will bring LINE FRIENDS’s much loved ‘BROWN & FRIENDS’ to a brand new world of storytelling. They are bring the characters as a Netflix Original series.
This new series will be created to be a non-verbal comedy that follows different set of characters who live in the same town. This creation with LINE FRIENDS will bring audiences all over the world and of all ages into the world of CONY, JAMES, BROWN, MOON, SALLY and others.
Netflix To Team Up with LINE FRIENDS To Create New Animated Series
Netflix’s Director of Original animation, Aram Yacoubian said “The band of adorable BROWN & FRIENDS characters has been a part of many fans’ daily lives since they created as stickers on LINE mobile messengers, and now we’re excited to develop the expanded world for screens of all kinds to delight new audiences everywhere on Netflix.”
“Based on unparalleled creative capabilities, LINE FRIENDS has produced diversified content with its popular IPs, including videos, animations and games that millennials and Gen Z love,” Vice President at LINE FRIENDS, KD Kim said. “With an original animated series on Netflix, LINE FRIENDS will enhance its competitiveness in global content, and strengthen its presence in the entertainment industry, as well as its position as both a global creative studio and a producer of high-quality content.”
Netflix Animation is out to give its full support to the community of storytellers worldwide, and is building a world of original animated content in every genre, technique, and tone. It is collaborating with producers from different countries to create new stories. Netflix and Korean creators have produced YooHoo to the rescue! and Larva Island for kids and families as well. Recently, the streaming giant released Sergio Pablo’s Klaus, its original family feature film from Spain, Dino Girl Gauko, a kids’ animated series from Japan, and Jérémy Clapin‘s I Lost My Bod from France. Co-producing on the new series is Kickstart Entertainment based in Los Angeles.We will announce more details about Netflix’s new collaboration with LINE FRIENDS at a later date when we get more information.
