‘Days of Our Lives (DOOL)’ spoilers reveal Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) got a massive shock recently. He found out Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) is his daughter. This has, of course, led to some anger among the family, especially against Laura Horton (Jaime Lyn Bauer). But now, a tragic event could make things worse for him. Here’s what you need to know.

First, Days of Our Lives spoilers revealed in a series of new “flashback” scenes that Jack was totally innocent in the Gwen situation. It was Laura all along. She’d felt so guilty about sleeping with Jack, not realizing he was her son-in-law, that she made a choice. She kept Gwen’s existence secret and paid her mother off to go away. This recently all came to light, and it led to some glorious scenes. In particular, we loved Jack reading Laura the riot act.
That “are you a nature or nurture kinda gal” line still gets us. Not to mention him calling mis psychiatrist out on the effects of childhood neglect, abandonment, and possible abuse. It was a great moment that made us respect Jack a lot more. He’s really pained about what happened and what’s to do the right thing.

However, Laura once again managed to make the situation worse. She took it upon herself to visit Gwen and confess her part in things. This led to a struggle where Gwen accidently killed her. Obviously, she didn’t really mean serious harm. You could tell by the shock and horror on her face. But she still has that self-preservation instinct at the forefront.
So, Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate she called Jack for help. When he learned what happened and how Gwen was obviously shaken, he decided to do the best he could for her. He vouched for her with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). Jack assured him he believes her accident story, and we’re pretty sure he’ll go the whole nine yards here. Lawyer, bail money, etc. But is this going to end up driving a wedge between him and his other family?

We see Jack as being in a no-win situation. If he didn’t help Gwen, he’d be the deadbeat she accused him of being. And his pain and guilt is too great not to. However, this is his mother in law. Jennifer Horton (Cady McClain) and Abigail Devereraux (Marci Miller) are devastated by Laura’s death. When Gwen’s part in it comes out, we have a feeling they’ll draw a line in the sand.
If he lifts a finger for her, they’ll want nothing to do with him. Really, it makes sense they’d feel that way. However, Jack is also right here, so we think he will ultimately go with his first instinct and keep on Team Gwen. And we think he’ll need somewhere else to sleep while he does his best for the lost child.
