NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers tease that Kayla Evans (Mary Beth Evans) will be performing surgery on Steve, in the hopes that the ‘old Steve’ will finally come back. That’s because she knows that it is going to take a lot of work to make sure that the ‘Stefano’ that has been living in Steve’s body is gotten rid of once and for all. Here’s what you need to know.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Kayla is determined to have the mind-altering chip in Steve’s brain removed. And while Kayla certainly hasn’t had to do something like this in the past, she still believes that she’s the only person for the job, for better or for worse.

Actress Mary Beth Evans tells the publication, “Kayla thinks she is unqualified to take the chip out herself. She thinks the person who put it in should be the person to take it out.”
The one person who comes into mind is Dr. Rolf (William Utay), the person who began this mess to begin with. He is the Stefano loyalist who promised to make things right with his boss in order to transform Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) into his ultimate queen.
Of course, that’s not the only problem that Kayla is dealing with right now. While Stefano says that he promises to rise again, Kayla is also facing plenty of questions from Justin on what she knows about Steve and Stefano. Needless to say, she doesn’t have a definite answer.
Mary Beth adds, “It’s hard. Kayla has real feelings for Justin and is really committed to him. She’s town endlessly about this and is just taking it step by step.”
