Noah Gragson is being ousted from his driving position due to his involvement with a meme that mocked George Floyd. He is wholeheartedly acknowledging his blunder.

A competitor in NASCAR’s Cup Series, Gragson has received an indefinite suspension from his stock car team, Legacy Motor Club. This decision was announced on Saturday, just a day before the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway, an event where Gragson was originally slated to participate.

However, there’s been a change in the racing lineup, with Josh Berry taking his place. LMC has unequivocally expressed disapproval of Gragson’s conduct on social media, emphasizing that his actions “do not reflect the principles of our team.”

Taking accountability, Gragson has voiced his remorse in his statement: “I am disheartened by my lapse in attentiveness and responsibility on social media. I am acutely aware of the seriousness of this situation. I hold deep respect and appreciation for everyone. My consistent endeavor is to treat all individuals fairly, regardless of their background. I made a grave error, plain and simple.”

Although the exact timing of NG’s engagement with the offensive Instagram meme remains unclear, the image superimposed George Floyd’s face onto the live-action portrayal of Sebastian the crab from ‘The Little Mermaid.’ The accompanying caption stated, “Under Da Knee, Under Da Knee.”

Gragson is a prominent figure within NASCAR, consistently achieving commendable outcomes in his recent race participations. However, at this point, it doesn’t appear he’ll be on the track anytime soon. However, he is receiving a lot of support from social media, with many fans saying he did nothing wrong and there was nothing to apologize for.

“So all he did was give a like to a meme? That’s just messed up. And we wonder why so many drivers are so Vanilla.”, “It’s was just dark humor, folks make 9/11 and holocaust jokes”, “You have nothing to apologize for dude. @NASCAR has not only gone woke. But, they have obviously lost any semblance of a sense of humor!!!” and “This isn’t even on you. You didn’t do anything wrong in my eyes. I hope you get hooked up with a better race team for next year.”

What do you think? Should Noah have been suspended indefinitely for liking a dark humor meme? Let us know in the comments below.
