Musician Halsey Left Embarrassed As Fans Walk Out Of Concert Following Abortion Comments-‘Glad They Walked Out’
The comments arrived on the back end of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade which has now allowed individual states to decide whether or not abortion should be legal. In doing so, the Federal right to have an abortion across the board has been removed.
While Halsey may have strong views on this particular issue, the very fact of the matter is that a concert was the last place you would expect to see things getting very political. As a result, Halsey’s comments backfired. According to reports, the musician’s concert in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday 26th June 2022 involved a speech.
In those comments, Halsey was alleged to have said the following: “If you’re a man in this audience right now, and you’re sharing statistics on Instagram and infographics and saying, ‘That’s really f***** up’ what you should do instead is you should be sharing stories about how you’ve benefited from abortion.”
Those comments did not go down very well with some of the audience members at the theatre. But rather than being put off by that, the musician decided to double down on those beliefs. By doing so, the singer let those people know that they were not welcome.
In response to that, Halsey remarked the following: “Downside of doing outdoor venues: no door to hit them on the way out.” Nevertheless, the fans on social media blasted Halsey.
This was on the basis that they did not come to listen to a lecture on abortion. After all, that is not why they paid to get a ticket. One person wrote: “Glad they walked out. People pay to hear music not for celebrities to run their mouths on politics.”
