Moroccan Fan Trolls Spanish Team Following Their World Cup Exit

After Spain got eliminated from the World Cup, a supporter of Morocco made an effort to guide Luis Enrique’s squad to the airport.

The game between Morocco and Spain ended in a 0-0 draw after additional time and was concluded through a penalty shootout, in which Spain was not able to convert any of their three spot kicks.

Consequently, Spain was eliminated from the tournament even though they were one of the favourites for the tournament in Qatar. During the celebration of Morocco’s victory, one of their fans noticed Spain’s team bus and jokingly pointed them in the direction of the airport.

The fan could be heard saying the following comments: “Hey my friend. Hey good luck, good team. The Airport is this way.” This will have been very hard to take for the following reasons.

First of all, they were overwhelming favourites against Morocco. Therefore, the failure to overcome them will have been viewed as a massive failure in and of itself.  Secondly, Spain has exited the last two tournaments in a similar manner by losing in penalty shootouts.

Lastly, there are going to be question marks over the future of their manager, Luis Enrique. That is why the manager was left with some major regrets. His following comments confirmed as much: “We dominated the game completely, and tried to create.

“We would have liked to create more. It was hard for us. We had 11 shots, I think, but few on goal. In the final move of the game Pablo Sarabia hit the post. The penalty shootout was hard for us. But I’m proud of my players.”

The fans on social media, though, felt that the troll had gone too far. And in the process of doing so, they called him out over his lack of grace. One person wrote: “Yeah. Real classy.” Hopefully, the Spanish team can come back a whole lot stronger.
