According to reports, the Miss Universe Organisation had to intervene with allegations that the winner was predetermined. This was not a very good look for the pageant given that Miss Texas R’Bonney Gabriel had only been declared the winner on Monday, 3rd October 2022.
Thereafter, it is alleged that the other contestants began to complain that the winner had already been chosen. With that being said, the organisation has decided to conduct an investigation in order to determine whether or not someone has a case to answer.
In an official statement given on behalf of the Miss Universe Organisation, a representative said the following: “After thorough deliberation, Miss Universe Organisation has decided to suspend Miss Brand immediately.
“Miss Universe Organization will be taking over the Miss USA program while a comprehensive, third-party investigation is conducted.” And on closer inspection, things are not looking very good. Crystle Stewart, who happens to be the president of Miss USA, has been clouded by controversy.
Her husband, Max Sebrechts, was allegedly accused of sexual misconduct. Not only that, but there are serious question marks over whether or not she could be suspended. In addition, there is also a chance that Miss Texas R’Bonney could be stripped of her title.
Despite that being the case, Crystal denied that there has been any wrongdoing. In a statement in response, she said: “The current allegations that the 2022 Miss USA pageant was in favor of one contestant over another are misleading and simply not factual.”
The only thing left to do is let the authorities investigate the matter and come to a conclusion based on the evidence. And given what we have seen so far, it is not possible to confirm if there is anything to answer.
