Thomas Markle Jr, who happens to be Meghan Markle’s half-brother, has appeared to slam the former member of the Royal family.
Meghan Markle’s Half-Brother Calls Her ‘Shallow’
Meghan, for her part, has a notoriously bad relationship with her family. She is not on good terms with her father, Thomas Markle, and her half-sister Samantha Markle. And it seems this case is no exception. Thomas, though, has made his feelings clear after joining the hit TV show Big Brother VIP in Australia.
In a trailer of the episode, Thomas is heard saying: “I’m Meghan Markle’s brother. I’m the biggest brother of them all.” Being the eldest brother means that he is not shy in expressing his feelings towards Meghan. And by the looks of it, he was very brutal indeed.
Just like Meghan’s father had suggested that she would destroy the Royal family, Thomas had a similar attitude. In a further clip, he informs the cast over how he told Prince Harry the following: “I think she’s going to ruin your life. She’s very shallow.” One of the reasons why Thomas has such a negative opinion over Meghan has been due to her perceived change of personality.
He has previously stated how Meghan was down to earth, but this all began to change as soon as she made it as a celebrity. With the limelight, fame and money that followed, she forgot about the rest of her family. In a prior interview with the Daily Mail, he stated: “Since Hollywood and being on that show [Suits] — being a celebrity has changed her. Maybe she feels like she is above everybody, maybe even more now.”
Despite those views, he does not believe that a reconciliation between Meghan and her father cannot happen. It is ultimately a case of whether Meghan wants to forgive her father for talking to the press.
His following comments confirmed as much: “I think [the family’s ongoing feud] got ignored and swept under the carpet for so long. It’s a shame where it’s ended up. If she was to make amends, by all means, she can do that.” With Thomas having so much to say, we will have to see if Meghan will respond.
