Meghan Markle couldn’t be there in person, but she certainly was there in spirit, perhaps to the dismay of some members of the royal family.
There’s a report that says the Duchess of Sussex watched Prince Philip’s funeral at the California home that she shares with her husband Prince Harry, who flew to the UK to be with his family.
Meghan was advised by her doctor not to attend because she is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child.
Because of her pregnancy and the ongoing pandemic that has been the coronavirus, Meghan made sure to watch on as her husband reunited with his royal family members for the first time since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Meghan Markle Watched Prince Philip’s Funeral From Her California Home
Although the event began with Princes Harry and William separated in the procession line by their cousin, Peter Phillips there was a brief moment in which they did speak to one another.
Meanwhile, there’s a report that says Prince Harry can’t wait to get back home to his pregnant wife and their son, Archie. While some critics believe that the Duke of Sussex could spend a little more time working on his family relationships in the UK, apparently he’s not interested in doing so. Harry is expected to be back in the U.S. as early as Tuesday.
With that said, a lot of royal fans can’t help but wonder how he managed to fly back to the UK so quickly. Although it’s not known what visa Harry is on — or whether he has applied for his green card — according to current guidelines, he will have had to apply for a National Interest Exception to travel home for the funeral.
