Prince Harry and Prince William may be attending the funeral of Prince Philip together, but that has not stopped the shenanigans.
Prince Harry And Prince William Will Not Walk Together During Prince Philip’s Funeral
Unlike families who would mourn the loss of a loved one together, William and Harry still have some major issues. This would add further insult to injury, as the duo were aware of the pain caused by a death as they walked together on their way to Princess Diana’s funeral. An insider, however, revealed the changes were for a good reason: “These are practical changes rather than sending a signal.
“This is a funeral, and we are not going to be drawn into perceptions of drama. The arrangements have been agreed and represent Her Majesty’s wishes as well as the personal wishes of The Duke.” It is hard to believe that this is simply for pragmatic reasons. The only way to stop the constant criticism surrounding the Royal family would be to show a symbol of unity. If that cannot be done at a funeral, then there is no chance of that ever happening.
While we do not expect to see verbal exchanges at the funeral, the silence is probably going to do more damage. However, royal expert Ingrid Seward has backed Harry to remain calm. She said: “For the period that Harry is [in England], they will very much put their differences behind them. I think that Harry will want to get back to [wife] Meghan [Markle] as soon as the funeral is over.
“So he won’t have a great deal of time to be in a potentially embarrassing situation with his family.” This should come as no surprise, as Harry has put it all out in the open. Until we get a direct apology, or a statement of denial from those responsible for the alleged allegations, this is not going to die down.
Not only that, Harry would simply draw more negative publicity if he acted out of hand. Ingrid added: “It’s not about Harry this day. Harry knows that it’s about his grandfather. … They’re all going to put on a very good show.”
