A woman who claimed Marilyn Manson had raped her on The View has since admitted she was lying and that the rock star’s ex, Rachel Evan Wood, had pushed her into making the claim. According to Ashley Morgan Smithline, 38, who had a short relationship with Manson in 2010, “succumbed to pressure from Evan Rachel Wood and her associates to make accusations of rape and assault against [Manson] that were not true.”
The Jewish model claimed that Manson, 54, raped her, cut her with a knife bearing a swastika, and put his fist in her mouth while they were having intercourse. After filing the case in June 2021, she appeared on The View to discuss the accusations and even referred to Manson as “a monster” on the cover of People.
Smithline’s accusation against Manson was thrown out last month. She has since acknowledged lying, but she claims Evan Rachel Wood forced her to do so by implying that she might have been so traumatized by a sex attack that she might not recall it.

In February 2021, Wood openly identified Manson as her alleged abuser of her, and according to Smithline, she encouraged other accusers to do the same. More than a dozen women have accused Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, of sexual misconduct; however, not all of them have taken legal action, and he has never been charged with a crime.
This isn’t the first time that a fake accusation has happened to this extent and the accusers have gotten off free. These fake accusations should be punishable to the same amount of the crime they are accusing! We cannot continue to allow people to attempt to ruin and arrest people for fake crimes!
