On the fifth season of Love Is Blind, Uche Okoroha and Aaliyah Cosby made a big connection. While viewers watched their love story in the pods unfold, they were sure that they would end up getting engaged and married.
However, it came out that Uche discovered that one of his exes was on the show as well. When Aaliyah told Uche that she had cheated in a relationship before, he was quick to judge her based on her past.

Then it came out that Lydia Velez Gonzalez had dated Uche. Lydia had been so supportive of Aaliyah and was constantly trying to give her advice about Uche. When all of this came out, Aaliyah couldn’t take it and she left the show. Now she is opening up more to fans of the show about what happened.

When Uche was ready to propose to Aaliyah, he went to the pods with a ring. He was shocked when she wasn’t across the wall. The producers then told him that she had decided to leave the show, and he was devastated.
When he was out of the pods, he ended up meeting with her and that is where fans saw them end things, even though she wanted to try again. However, according to Uche, this is not where they ended things, and they did date in the real world.
After chatting with multiple outlets, Aaliyah then confirmed what Uche told his fans.
She said, “I had been told by some of the other cast members that he was saying some things to them, they had a group chat.I dunno, I’ve never seen it, but multiple people telling me, ‘Aaliyah, this is what he said and you deserve more. You’re a great person, you’re real. You shouldn’t have to chase after someone.'”
She also added that she heard from the others that he told them that he did not find her attractive.
She went on to say, “I did try to ask him, ‘What is it? I thought we had this connection. What is it?’ I’m gonna be honest, I think he wasn’t truly attracted to me as well. He mentioned that I wasn’t his type, his ideal type, and that was kind of hurtful too. I didn’t care how he looked.”
Aaliyah and Lydia are no longer friends, and she added, “She did reveal some things to me. I’m not sure I want to share it because that was her experience and I feel like there were some pretty private things there… to me, it seems there’s truth to both stories and then there’s the truth in the middle.”
Aaliyah has since moved on and she has been seen kissing a new man. She hasn’t share who he is, but she is very happy and feels that Love Is Blind helped her to realize what she really needed in a partner.
