There has been a lot of drama coming from the Love Is Blind franchise. Viewers would love to have the Lachey’s kicked off and there have been cast members bring up the fact that they haven’t had the mental health help that they need to be on a reality television show.
There have even been rumors that the cast wasn’t fed properly. It turns out that now there are more allegations coming out Season 5 of the show. Let’s find out what is really going on and what happened with this cast.
Love Is Blind: The Fifth Season Drama
It turns out that one of the cast members on Season 5, Tran Dang is now claiming that she was sexually assaulted while filming the show. She never appeared on the show and has decided that was going to sue Kinetic Content, which is the production company that makes Love Is Blind.
Love Is Blind: The Drama Continues as the Show Gets Sued For Sexual Assault and False Imprisonment, What Happened?
Dang claimed that her former fiancé was the one who sexually assaulted her and the producers knew that it happened but did nothing to stop it. She also alleged that she was “falsely imprisoned while filming” and the producers knew it was happening, but did nothing to help.
Dang’s lawyer told the press, “The producers are throwing money at the problem by spending an inordinate amount of money on losing legal positions that do nothing but delay the parties from having their day in court.
They lost on three distinct legal issues before the trial court and the filed three separate appeals to multiply the proceedings we have to wade through before finally trying this case.
We have to hold the show producers accountable. We have an ethical duty to our client to do so, but also feel a moral obligation to the next generation of reality show participants.”
Dang told her lawyers that she “felt unsafe” while she was filming the show. The producers stand by the fact that if they knew someone felt unsafe, they would have told her to leave immediately upon finding this information out.
They told the lawyers that the cast members are completely free to leave whenever they feel that they need to and that they are not held their against their will. They added, “We support and stand with victims of sexual assault, but Ms. Dang‘s claims against the producers are meritless.
We document the independent choices of adults who volunteer to participate in a social experiment. Their journey is not scripted, not is it filmed around the clock.
We have no knowledge or control over what occurs in private living spaces when not filming, and participants may choose to end their journey at any time.”
We will continue to keep an eye on this case and if it leads to any other legal proceedings.
