Three former backup dancers who worked with Lizzo are taking legal action, alleging they endured terrible working conditions during their time on the job.
They have filed a lawsuit against both Lizzo and her touring company, claiming they were unfairly fired or compelled to resign due to unbearable circumstances.
Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez became part of Lizzo’s team through her Amazon reality show ‘Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.’
However, they contend that once they were selected, they faced numerous workplace violations in California, including instances of sexual harassment, false imprisonment, and interference with prospective economic advantage.
These serious accusations are not only targeted at Lizzo herself but also extend to some members of her management team. The women recount two distressing incidents that occurred while they were touring with Lizzo in Europe earlier this year.
“NIGHTMARE” Lizzo Being SUED By Ex-Dancers For Being Terrible To Work For
They assert that Lizzo pressured them to attend nude shows in Amsterdam and Paris, putting them in uncomfortable positions and forcing them to interact with the performers on stage in explicit and vulgar ways just to retain their jobs.
Additionally, the dancers claim that Lizzo persistently harassed them over perceived poor performance and accused them of drinking on the job. This led to constant threats regarding their positions on the team and even compelled them to re-audition during an exhausting multi-hour rehearsal.
One dancer remembers being so afraid to take a break that she ended up urinating on stage. Moreover, the dancers state that they were frequently underpaid and had to decline other dance opportunities during tour breaks.
In their lawsuit against Lizzo and her touring company, the three dancers are seeking significant damages as a result of the alleged mistreatment they experienced. It seems like this could be a lot of hot water for the singer and all those years of “positivity” could come crashing down on her.
