Your Thursday, July 25th La Reina del Sur spoilers bring surprises from Cayetana Segovia (Luisa Gavasa), some conflict over César “Batman” Güemes (Alejandro Calva), and a real nail-biter involving Sofia Dantes (Isabella Sierra). If you missed it, let’s get to some highlights in today’s La Reina del Sur recap.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Escape plan?

Oleg Yasikov (Antonio Gil) has a plan, and he needs Rocío Aljarafe (Sara Vidorreta) to help. They’re planning to help rescue Faustino Sánchez Godoy (Lincoln Palomeque) from prison, and she’s supposed to be their go-between. After all, she is the one engaged to him. Rocío is nervous, but she accepts the assignment.

At la carcel, Rocio does exactly what’s asked of her and finds out when Faustino is going to be in the yard, then passes on a cryptic message from Oleg, who Faustino is surprised to learn is alive. She leaves after promising that they are going to marry soon, and far away from la carcel.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Helping Batman

Sheila (Cuca Escribano) brings Batman to a meeting point, where he admits to Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo) he screwed up by bringing the gun and planning to kill him in spite of her pleas for patience. He swears, though, he didn’t pull the trigger, and Teresa believes him. She brings him to the new #TeamTeresa hideout. Everyone is shocked and some upset by this, given the circumstances, she insists they’re going to help.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Savior

Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita) later gets a call from Teresa to tell him just that. He is grateful for her help in saving him, but she warns to keep his eyes open. One attempt failed, but another will not.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Make it work

Speaking of the plot, Alejandro Alcalá (Mark Tacher) is being pressured by his latest DEA accomplice to make another attempt. After what happened before, it will be easy to make it look like he had a heart attack or some other ailment as a result.

Alejandro is skeptical, as the military is involved, but he’s told this is exactly why Alejandro has to find a way to get back in and do this thing. Fast. Alejandro begs for time to think, but he’s only getting 24 hours.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Nail-biter

We’re stressing tonight, because Triana (Aroha Hafez) manages to get in the Aljarafe estate and Sofia’s room. She tries to suffocate the child, but Cayetana comes to the rescue just in time and knocks her out.

In another part of the house, Cayetana and Charo (Carmen Flores Sandoval) confront a weakened Triana about the attempt on Sofia’s life. Cayetana is enraged, as Sofia is the only thing that makes her want to live. Triana goes on about her own dead son, which leads to a pissing contest of grief before Cayetana does something surprising. More on that in a sec.

For now, suffice it to say that Sofia jumps into a fight that erupted and helps save Cayetana, but Charo ends up taking a fatal blow. Cayetana, furious about this, shoots Tirana in the head.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Cayetana’s redemption?

So, remember that surprising thing? Cayetana actually admitted that Teresa was somewhat justified in what she did. Not only that, but she insults her own sainted son (Teo Aljarafe, played by Miguel de Miguel) while comparing him to the trash Triana birthed. Wow. Okay, we have a feeling it just got very cold somewhere…

Later, after all the action is over and the police have taken a statement, Sofia questions what the man said about her sisters murdering Triana’s son (Juan, played by Pol Monen). Cayetana claims she was the one who did it.

Further adding to her rapid turnaround, she comforts a crying Sofia, who blames her presence there for Charo’s death. She promises Sofia she’s in no way to blame for this.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Negociemos

Meanwhile, Teresa uses Danilo Márquez (Emannuel Orenday) to get in touch with Alejandro. He’s going to be used as a hostage, allegedly to allow Teresa to leave the country and be at peace. More likely, she’s going to use this meeting to take out Alejandro instead.

Things get heated during the call, and this is where Teresa thinks Alejandro is ready to negotiate. Poor Danilo just wants to get out of here and away from these strange people.
