..King Charles and Princess Charlotte share a very close bond as the monarch “once wanted a daughter,” royal expert Ingrid Seward claims.
Princess Diana Once Admitted that Charles Always Wanted A Daughter
The relationship between the King and the adorable princess, who recently celebrated her tenth birthday, goes beyond that of a typical grandfather and granddaughter relationship.
King Charles has been spending a great deal of time at Windsor Castle, which is located near Adelaide Cottage. Charlotte lives with her parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis.
Princess Diana once admitted to Andrew Morton, the author of her infamous biography, Diana: Her True Story, that Charles always wanted a girl.
“I knew Harry was going to be a boy because I saw on the scan,” Diana shared about the birth of her second son. “I knew Harry was a boy, and I didn’t tell him.”
Diana and Charles welcomed their first son and heir to the throne, Prince William, in June 1982, one year after their so-called “storybook wedding.”
Prince Harry arrived in September 1984. The King was hopeful for a girl, but he had Harry. He may have been disappointed that he never had the little girl he so longed for, which could be why he has such a soft spot for Charlotte.
The King wanted two children, and he wanted one of them to be a girl. Diana was always sensitive to the challenges of being the “spare” in the family. She understood how coming in second place was difficult, as she had seen with Princess Margaret, Prince Andrew, and then with Harry.
William And Kate Are Teaching Charlotte Her Role In The Institution
That being said, William and Kate are teaching Charlotte her role in the institution, as they don’t want her to end up resentful and bitter like Harry.
William expressed how his goal as a future king was to “make the whole royal existence approachable and not at all scary for his children.” He views it as one of his most essential duties.
The Wales are raising their children to find the proper balance between private life and royal duties. They enjoy spending time together as a family. They want to give their kids, as typical, a childhood as possible. Charlotte has several royal family members with whom she can ask for advice. One of them is her beloved grandfather.
Charles feels a special connection with Charlotte. Last year, he was seen wearing a friendship bracelet Charlotte made for her grandfather. She loves to craft those colorful armlets for herself and her loved ones. The bracelet Charles wore was made of yellow and red thread. The King greatly appreciated the gift and the lovely gesture it was.
King Charles may see Charlotte as the daughter he never had. Charlotte has certainly taken to her royal role “like a duck to water,” Seward explained.
She was recently seen on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. She was with her parents and her two brothers for the VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations.
Charlotte is becoming a fantastic and responsible young lady who is being raised to both accept and embrace her role. She is accepting her role in the monarchy thanks to her caring and devoted parents and her loving grandfather.
