Kim decided to file for divorce, as it became clear that they were no longer on the same page. While they will continue to be in each other’s lives, due to the fact that they raised children together, Kim has now decided to come clean on exactly where the marriage broke down.
During the interview with Andy, Kim revealed that it was a mixture of things that led to the split. She said: “It was not, like, one specific thing that happened on either part. I think it was just a general difference of opinions on a few things that led to this decision.” On closer inspection, it is easy to see what those reasons could have been.
First of all, Kanye had made many public comments that stirred up a lot of controversy. The primary example of this was when Kanye decided to declare that ‘slavery was a choice.’ Second of all, Kanye had made it clear that he wanted to reside in a separate state but still remain married to Kim. Naturally, as a married couple who had raised children together, this could no longer be seen as a viable option.
Despite the break-up, the duo do see eye to eye on how they should move forward with their children. The duo, for their part, have four children together: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. And after having successfully negotiated co-parenting arrangements, Kim has made it clear that Kanye is still a part of their future going forward.
She added: “We have an amazing co-parenting relationship, and I respect him so much, and I think we’ll have — I will forever be Kanye’s biggest fan. He’s the father of my kids. Kanye will always be family.” That is why Kim is hoping that the two can continue to remain friends, once the divorce has been finalised.
But this may be much more difficult to do in reality, as we only have to look at Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick. Although the duo have kids together, their relationship has become fractured in the aftermath of their break-up. Time will tell how it all plays out.
