Kate and William were in Scotland to learn more about how local groups support young people’s mental health in rural communities.

Since its inception in 2003, the charity has bolstered youngsters between the ages of eight and eighteen to help them build confidence and self-esteem.

The platform encourages young people to improve their mental and physical health. Children can choose from mountain biking, paddlesports, rock climbing, archery, and bushcraft.

The couple visited Moray and Inverness. They began their tour at Burghead Primary School in Moray, where they met with organizers of the Outfit Moray charity, which oversees outdoor learning and adventure programs for young people.

Even though she is a full-grown adult, the Princess still loves to play. She jumped on a mountain bike to take a ride with the kiddos.

Kate knew how to handle it when one of the kids fell. When the little tumbles off his bike, Kate goes to comfort him. She gently placed her hand on his back and told him he was “so brave.”

“falling off a bike is all part of learning.”

She asked the boy where his bike was, and he pointed over to it. The little boy was shy and nervous but wanted to try again. Kate  told him to get back up and

    “give it another go.”

Kate wasn’t the only one having fun interacting with the children. William was in big brother mode as he hopped on a bike to come along. William and Kate impressed the children with their biking skills.

Kate was most charming when she high-fived the kids and spoke with them about their school.

    “I really like your school,”

    she said enthusiastically.

While giving a child a high-five, the youngster asked Kate who she was. She surprisedly replied,

“Who am I? I’m married to William,”

Kate pointed over to the Prince.

“It was very nice to meet all of you,”

    She beamed.

In a hilarious exchange, William was asked by one youngster how old he was. William responded and asked the child,

“How old do you think I am?”

The child guessed that William was 57, and William, who is only 41 years old, exclaimed,

    “Hey, I’m not that old!”

Princess Kate was also asked how old she was. Kate replied cutely,

    “I’m 41, but don’t tell anyone!”
