On Sunday, 19th February 2023, Kate Middlet on caused a frenzy when it seemed like she gave Prince William a light tap on the backside while they were walking the carpet at the Bafta awards.

This occasion was the first time in three years that the pair, who have consistently gone to the most noteworthy night of British film annually, have participated. And by the looks of it, they did cause quite a stir.
In the pictures here, we can see the pair having said something to each other, followed by Kate leaning forward and patting the Prince’s bottom. It was a unique occasion where the couple showed affection to each other, seeming content and ecstatic to be at the celebration.
The duo have been accused in the past of a lack of PDA in comparison with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While this may be due to royal protocol in that PDA moments do not happen on royal duties, the fact of the matter is that Kate did let her guard down a little.
And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. A certain subset of people were of the view that the pair could not have been any happier in their relationship. After all, they are parents to three children.
Meanwhile, others criticized Kate on the grounds that her behaviour came across in a negative light, thus showing a lack of grace. This was since there would be more outrage if the Sussexes had done this.
One person wrote: “I thought such displays by royals were tacky and unwanted…if it were those who will not be named you’d scream the house down. I guess it’s alright for this particular couple. Such hypocrisy.”
