Kate Middleton accepted a fun challenge during her walkabout in the rain after she visited the Welsh art gallery on Thursday.
An Adorable Little Girl gifted Kate a Handmade Necklace.
Prince William and Kate carried out a series of engagements in Wales ahead of St. David’s Day. The royal couple attended a workshop at Oriel Davies, an art gallery in Newtown.
An adorable young girl hugged the Princess after the Princess gifted her a handmade necklace she had made during the art workshop. It was a sweet little surprise for the royal.
Kate put the necklace on immediately. Another little girl hugged Kate as photos showed her burying her face in the Princess’s coat.
Princess Catherine also happily participated in a spirited game of “rock, paper, scissors with two young boys in the rain.
The game brought a smile to Kate’s face. Kate is nicknamed “the Children’s Princess” for her warmth and kindness toward children.
Kate’s wonderful way with kids mimics William’s mother, the late Princess Diana, as she was also unforgettably exceptional at interacting with children.
Princess Catherine also hugged another group of little girls, holding Welsh flags. The kids could hardly contain their excitement at meeting the Princess.
Kate and William also enjoyed their time at the art gallery, where the Princess was presented with a bunch of flowers.
The Prince and Princess viewed the Hand in Hand art project, which is a community project for those Syrian and Afghan families who live there.
They also learned that creative workshops encourage social connections and build children’s confidence by fostering a special connection with nature.
William and Kate also notably pinned daffodils, Wales’s national flower, to their outfits for St. David’s Day.
Kate and William Watched a Children’s Choir Perform at the Hanging Gardens
St. David’s Day commemorates its patron saint, St. David, who died on March 1st in 589 AD. It’s a celebration of Welsh culture.
In honor of the occasion, Britain throws parades, concerts, traditional food, and the wearing of daffodils or leeks as national emblems.
Major celebrations take place in Welsh cities such as Cardiff, Swansea, and Aberystwyth. St. David’s Day is also often marked by the flying of the St. David’s flag or the red Dragon flag.
William and Kate also stopped by The Hanging Gardens yesterday. They toured the community hub, met volunteers, and sampled local cider.
Prince William had the cider, while Kate drank a cup of “pomorange” juice, a vibrant blend of pomegranate and orange juice.
The Hanging Gardens is a hub for artistic expression. The couple sipped drinks in the café, visited the performing arts center, and watched a children’s choir perform.
The pair also visited the kitchen, where they were making Welsh cakes on a small griddle ahead of St. David’s Day. Kate spoke with people outside in the rain, where she gave more hugs and some high-fives.
For her St. David’s Day visit to Wales, Kate wore a sophisticated, elegant outfit featuring a long Alexander McQueen coat.
Kate paired the stylish coat with a matching pleated skirt and Gioanvito Rossi boots. She accessorized her outfit with a pair of citrine cushion drop earrings.
As always, Kate stepped out for her engagement looking stunning. During Kate and William’s outing yesterday, she was forced to refuse an autograph due to strict royal protocols.
