During President Biden’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday, First Lady Jill Biden and her husband Doug Emhoff exchanged an awkward kiss on the mouth. Vice President Kamala Harris said she had not seen the footage. When questioned about her thoughts on the widely circulated video on Wednesday, Harris replied, “No, I haven’t watched the video,” to Edwin Pitti of Univision.
She quickly changed the subject to anti-Semitism saying, “But I do know that the first lady and the second gentleman are working arduously with what we are doing with my husband against anti-Semitism.” Biden was seen in footage from inside the legislature shaking hands as she moved through the crowded chamber toward Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband in the balcony. Biden was wearing a vivid purple dress. The viral video shows the two quickly embracing in what seems to be a well-rehearsed kiss after taking one other’s hands and grinning at each other.

Following the affectionate show, the two kept holding hands while Biden took a position to Emhoff’s left and Biden to her right.
The president’s wife and vice president’s husband shared a kiss, but nobody nearby appeared to be alarmed by it. However, many people were quick to react. Megyn Kelly described witnessing Biden and Emhoff kiss as “uncomfortable” and “gross.” “People should not be mouth-kissing ever if it’s not your husband or your spouse,” Kelly said during Wednesday’s broadcast of her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
What is going on in the White House and why are more people not talking about this? It definitely isn’t normal, and I can’t wait to hear all the excuses for what happened. I’m sure it was just a mistake.
