Jeopardy!’s newest champ, Amy Schneider has been quietly smashing records throughout her tenure on the long-running quiz show that has spanned between 2021 and 2022. Now her win on Friday, January 14 sees the Californian surpass the record made a contestant whose name has become synonymous with Jeopardy!

James “High Roller” Holzhauer has been bested by Amy who has now become the third-longest consecutive winner in Jeopardy! history.

The first record Amy took was the title of the first transgender contestant to qualify for the show’s esteemed Tournament of Champions. This was a feat she was proud of–and thanked transgender contestants like Kate Freeman, who became the first out transgender champion for “blazing the trail” before her–however, Amy didn’t feel being a transgender contestant defined her.

It turns out, she was right!

Amy hit another milestone on the Christmas Eve 2021 show when she smashed the record for highest winnings ever earned by a woman on the show. Before 2021 ended, Amy had won more games than any previous female player ever.

‘Jeopardy!’: Now Amy is playing with the boys.

All these “gender role wins” are sooo 2021 and now, as 2022 sees Amy settle even more comfortably behind the champion’s podium, the engineering manager has joined the millionaire’s club. Amy officially became only the fourth player to hit the threshold through regular gameplay (aka, pre- special tournaments) on January 7, when she won her 28th consecutive game.

Not happy with smashing that record, Amy’s 33rd win during January 14th’s episode has seen her edge James Holzhauer out of the top three of consecutive wins, and now she is hot on Matt Amodio’s tail.

Matt won 38 consecutive games and just over $1.5 million before he was thwarted by Jonathan Fisher, who went on to win 11 games and just under a quarter of a million dollars, himself. Both Matt and Jonathan will come face to face with Amy in 2022’s Tournament of Champions which is gearing up to look like one of the fiercest competitions yet.

Until then, Amy hopes to  continue to smash records, toppling Matt’s 38 wins and to come after the G.O.A.T. himself, current host, Ken Jennings and his dumbfounding 74 consecutive wins

Ken’s record has been held since 2004, but Amy’s rapidly growing fan base believe she just may be the contestant to give Ken a run for his money.

    We are here for it!
