The duo’s relationship has gone full circle after having gotten engaged for the second time when the initial one was called off in 2004. Rather than it being a big and grand event, Jennifer was busy having some downtime when Ben decided to drop the proposal. Jennifer expanded up on how she was in the bathroom when the news broke.
In her comments, she said: “Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed.” This clearly would have been an awkward moment if Jennifer had said no, but in reality, she was not going to do that given by the reaction she went on to display.
She admitted that she broke down in tears of joy, as it simply recalled the moment she had with Ben the first time around. And in order to put Ben out of his misery, Jennifer had no hesitation in telling him that she was ready to take their relationship to the next level and accept his proposal.
She added: “I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘Is that a yes?’ I said ‘YES of course that’s a YES.” Despite this being a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, or in the case of Jennifer a second time around, she did not decry the fact that it was a very low-key affair.
After all, Ben could have decided to do it in a lavish manner. But the intimate nature of events made it much sweeter for the singer. And this is something that will stay with her for a long time, especially since she could not be in a better place.
She continued: “It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could’ve ever imagined. Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love.”
