After his horrific car fire accident, Jay Leno is now in a new stage of recovery and receiving burn treatment in a hyperbaric chamber.
As you can see, the procedure calls for Jay to lie on his back in a space that resembles a tube. with bandages on his hands and arms. The procedure reduces swelling and improves oxygenation of Jay’s burns on his arms, shoulders, neck, and face. Inside Edition was informed by Dr. Peter Grossman of the Grossman Burn Center that the procedure will also lessen bacterial growth near the wounds.
Jay Leno Receiving Hyperbaric Chamber Treatment Following Burns, Currently In Good Condition
Leno was repairing a clogged fuel line in his 1907 White Steam Car in his Burbank garage when a car exploded into flames, inflicting second and third-degree burns. Jay already had one surgery to repair his skin, according to Grossman earlier this week, and would have a second one this week.
Most importantly, he mentioned that Jay would likely recover fully. According to Dr. Grossman, the patient is still in good health and is active, even taking the time to crack a few jokes and hand out cookies to other patients. Regarding the scars, Doc says they will probably be noticeable in the near future, but it is hoped that they won’t be noticeable forever.
He has high expectations for Jay’s recovery process. stating that he believes the comedian could return to work in a matter of months. Good news for Jay! We’re happy to hear that he is doing so well after the accident and look forward to seeing him again when he’s back to normal. We wonder if this will affect his show at all or if he will pick up right where he left off.
