Jana Kramer had no intention of ending her marriage to Mike Caussin, but her friends realised that she could not continue in the same way.
Jana Kramer’s Friends Could See Her Marriage ‘Was Killing Her’
The couple managed to stay together for around six years, despite the widespread disharmony that hampered the duration of their marriage. And those within Jana’s inner circle could see she was unhappy. A source revealed: “[Jana] went over and beyond to salvage this marriage. But anyone[ her friends] could see it was killing her.”
On reflection, it was the right thing to do. They could no longer iron out their differences, and there was trust issues, given the continual acts of infidelity. But her desire to keep the family unit together clouded her own judgement. The source added: “One of the reasons why she stayed so long was because she wanted to keep the family together.
“[She was] scared of what life would be on her own without him.” But life with him was clearly not any better. Jana had not forgiven Mike fully for his mistakes. It is not to say that she should have forgiven him, but rather, why would she stay in a marriage knowing that she still had painful memories because of him. That would explain why they continued to fight, which led to the infamous photo of Jana crying publicly on social media.
The source continued: “Whenever something triggered his past indiscretions.. they’d fight, and she’d wind up in tears.” And ultimately, the emotional stress took its toll. Jana is a singer by trade and is ultimately a very expressive person. So the prospect of her singing deep emotional songs, at a time when her own life was going through mass turmoil, was always going to be impossible.
Not only that, she had to turn up to work with a straight face as she worked with Mike on their podcast together. It all reached a point where Jana had to stay true to herself. The source noted: “She was wrestling with so many emotions… On the outside, they had this beautiful life and beautiful home in Nashville, but behind closed doors, it was a different story.”
