In Jamie Lynn Spears’ memoir ‘Things I Should Have Said’ Jamie Lynn, now 30, recounts one time when they were younger and Britney got scared and locked them in a room and grabbed a knife.

She followed this up with a statement about after having experienced her own panic attacks that “how someone feels during those times are important” but that it’s also important to remember that she was a kid during that time and that she was scared and that she was very upset that her sister felt unsafe enough to be grabbing weapons.

Okay, valid point, but… what was she actually trying to say?

She also detailed another time in which she said that she was holding her toddler, Ivey (the younger of her two daughters) and that Britney got all up in her face and started cursing.

Jamie Lynn says she left the room and said that she wasn’t trying to fight, but that her older daughter, Maddie, who was 12 at the time stepped in and started trying to mediate the situation – something that Jamie Lynn didn’t like because according to her, that’s not the type of thing that you should be doing when you’re 12. Again, valid, but there was some valid discourse missing from both of these incidents.

Notice how Jamie Lynn never actually said what exactly upset Britney in the first place? In the incident when they were children, she never once said what triggered Britney to feel unsafe, nor did she really go into detail about what the fight was about that her own daughter felt the need to step in on.

She did say that both of her parents maintained that Britney “shouldn’t be upset” and “don’t upset Britney” but Jamie Lynn’s own argument to that was “Britney just saw both the children and me upset. When do I matter?” again, valid, but it feels like we’re missing a huge part of the story here.

If Britney wants to begin at the beginning with her own autobiography, now would be the time to do so because it sounds like this one has a few holes in it. Stay tuned!!!
