While Prince Harry might be saying one thing, some believe believe that his body language is saying another. There’s speculation that the Duke of Sussex might be quite depressed in his marriage to Meghan Markle.
At least, that’s what some people believe after seeing him in the Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan. Harry apparently looked quite embarrassed when his wife performed an exaggerated curtsy on camera while recalling the first time she met Queen Elizabeth. Here’s what you need to know.
Is Prince Harry Really Depressed In His Marriage To Meghan Markle?
Darren McGrady, who used to be Princess Diana’s personal chef, put it this way in a tweet, “I’ve known Harry since I held him as a baby while Princess Diana was eating cereals in the kitchen at Windsor Castle. The look on his face when his wife laughs about (having to) curtsy to The Queen says everything for me.”
Before the bizarre moment, Harry had explained: “My grandmother was the first senior member of the family that Meghan met. She had no idea what it all consisted of so it was a bit of a shock to the system for her. How do you explain that to people? How do you explain that you bow to your grandmother? And that you will need to curtsy. Especially to an American. That’s weird.”
Meghan added: “There wasn’t like some big moment of, ‘Now you’re going to meet my grandmother’. I didn’t know I was going to meet her until moments before.”
Meanwhile, Harry’s concern at comments made relating to Meghan Markle’s mixed-race heritage was a major element of the interview with Oprah Winfrey.
And now Prince Harry returns to that theme in this series as he talks about unconscious bias, saying “the thing with unconscious bias is it’s actually no one’s fault. But once it’s been pointed out or identified within yourself, you then need to make it right.”
Much focus in Harry and Meghan is also placed on media intrusion, with Prince Harry once again saying that his greatest fear was “history repeating itself” as he talks about the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
