Meghan Markle Is Getting Screwed By Netflix Over Residual Checks
Netflix knows this. That’s why the online streamer took a huge gamble by signing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on with a multi-million dollar paycheck. But their contract with Netflix isn’t the issue here.
It’s the fact that Meghan is getting screwed by not getting anything from her Suits residual checks.
Before she became the Duchess of Sussex, the only people who knew Meghan Markle’s name were the ones that happened to watch her on Suits, which was a big legal drama on the USA network for many long seasons. If you didn’t watch the show, then you had no idea who Meghan was.
But according to reports, it doesn’t matter how many reruns the show is getting. It also doesn’t matter that it’s on Netflix. Because Meghan is most likely getting pennies for the show. Some of Suits’ writing staff have admitted to only getting $400 paychecks for the entire year after the show ended its final season back in 2018.
Then again, does this really matter to Meghan Markle at all? She’s moved on from Hollywood. She’s probably also not even aware that there are even residual checks out there with her name on them. That’s because she’s got bigger fish to fry.
Meghan and her husband Prince Harry have massive bills they have to cover over at their $14 million dollar mansion in Montecito. Whatever work she did with Suits is definitely not going to cover her costs now.
Meghan is sure enough getting screwed over by Suits and Netflix. But she’s also probably not even aware of it.
The Duchess of Sussex is most likely looking for her next $20 million dollar paycheck. That’s the kind of money that’s going to keep the lights on for her family.
Meghan Markle Could Care Less About Those Checks
Netflix can keep the pennies, as far as Meghan is concerned.
Now, that doesn’t mean Meghan won’t ever return to acting again. She might do it as a hobby. But it’s definitely not going to be her initial source of income.
Meghan doesn’t want to just be on Netflix. She wants to own Netflix. That’s the kind of aspiration she has.
