It’s been quite the question in the entertainment industry for a very long time now, leaving fans guessing as to who their new on-screen idol will be. And now Henry Cavill has addressed the speculation that he might be the next James Bond. The actor said that there’s “nothing off the table,” while also hinting that he’s very much interested in the job. Here’s what he has to say.
Henry Cavill, the 38-year-old British actor best-known for playing Superman, is often tipped as one of the leading candidates to take over. In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, he admitted that he wouldn’t mind talking to Bond producers about the potential of becoming the next James Bond.
Is Henry Cavill Going To Be The Next James Bond?
He said: “I think it would be very exciting to have a conversation with the producers. In an ideal world, I’d never have to turn anything down. Nothing is off the table. It’s an honour to even be part of that conversation.” However, Henry also said there’s still a lot of work to do as Superman on the big screen.
“There is still a lot of storytelling for me to do as a Superman and I would absolutely love the opportunity,” Cavill said.
Addressing where he left the character in Justice League, Cavill added: “There’s an opportunity for growth after that, to explore the psyche of Superman as a deep, seemingly invulnerable god-like being but with real feeling on the inside. “As I always say, ‘The cape is still in the closet.’”
