Britney Spears is finally free! After over 13 years in a conservatorship, the arrangement is over and Britney has control over her life again. Of course, with safeguards in place. There’s reportedly a plan submitted by Jodi Montgomery to help Britney transition into life outside of her father’s and others’ control.
Of course, sources also reported this plan is specifically being kept quiet from Jamie Spears and others. Partly, too, because of medical privacy concerns, and information relating to her two sons. Let’s take a look at a couple of the things said to be in the works and what at least one fan would like to see happen.
Britney Spears has her say!
After over a decade of silence, her June 2021 leaked testimony was pretty much the first time people heard from her on the subject. She was never allowed to speak of the arrangement, and in the process of getting free, she’s made a couple cryptic comments about it.
Some got deleted, others stayed. But a recent Instagram video featured her giving some of the most in-depth commentary yet, and she hinted at how she wants to be an advocate for those stuck in the corrupt system she escaped. But she hinted that she was going to use a much bigger platform to talk when she mentioned Oprah Winfrey.
Britney Spears and Oprah?
According to the talk online, an interview with Oprah is basically a done deal. The same sources claimed that her attorney, Matthew Rosengard, would be helping her prepare for the interview. Will this happen? We’ll just have to wait and see. But given her joking about it in that video, plus her clear desire to tell her side of things, we wouldn’t be shocked if she accepted a huge platform like that to do so.
As for other future plans, an upcoming People story has some hints from unnamed sources. Apparently, the singer has been thinking a lot of her career lately and would like to put a new album out. However, the same source also claimed Britney is taking things one step at a time. We wouldn’t blame her. We’re sure people will wait to get new projects from Britney Spears.
Britney Spears and soaps collide?
If you’ve been following our write-ups about Maurice Benard’s State of Mind, you know why we’re mentioning this. For those who don’t know, this is a YouTube show hosted by ‘General Hospital’ star Maurice Benard. The actor, who plays Sonny Corinthos on the show, has bipolar disorder and started the series as a way of raising awareness about mental health.
The show has also been a platform for soap stars and others to speak about other personal struggles. Given his own advocacy mission, and how it was suggested to him on Twitter, we’d say this would be a can’t-miss episode should he be lucky enough to book her.
With Benard’s easy-going way about him, her new advocacy mission, and how it’s a more relaxed/small stage to chat, we believe it would be a perfect fit for the singer to tell her story. Only time will tell if that happens, but if it does? We’ll definitely be watching.
