Indiana Jones 5 star Harrison Ford has hurt his shoulder while rehearsing a fight scene for the highly-anticipated action film.

The extent of the 78 year old’s injuries are unknown at time of writing, with on set sources saying the legendary actor is currently receiving treatment on his shoulder.

Despite Ford’s injury, director James Mangold is continuing to shoot scenes that do not involve Ford’s lead character, Dr. Jones, in the fifth film of the extremely popular franchise. Mangold is said to be currently reconfiguring the shooting schedule while a treatment plan for Ford is being evaluated.

This is not the first time Ford has been hurt on set while reprising career-making roles. Ford previously suffered an injury in 2014 on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Ford’s leg was broken when the actor was caught in a hydraulic door in a freak accident on the Millennium Falcon London set.

Speaking of the freak accident in London, Ford said, “The door came down and hit me on my left hip because I was turned to my right. It flung my left leg up and it dislocated my ankle and as it drove me down to the floor, my legs slapped on the ramp up to the Millennium Falcon and broke both bones in my left leg.”

While a substantial injury, it could have been far worse. In fact, legal teams said of the hydraulic door, “It could have killed somebody. The fact that it didn’t was because an emergency stop was activated.” The company in charge of the door and set, a subsidiary of Disney, were sued.

Now, with Ford’s leg back in action-hero form, we all have to wait and see how extensive Ford’s shoulder injury is, and if it could affect the projected July 29, 2022 release date of the fifth ‘Indy’ film.

Until this accident, filming for Indiana Jones 5 has been rather secretive. Ford was first spotted filming in the UK earlier this month, sporting his signature fedora and leather jacket….and face mask between scenes.

The plot is being kept top secret however, we know Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Thomas Kretschmann are filming alongside the action star.

John Williams will be recreating an iconic score for the newest Indiana film. Like Ford, Williams has been involved with the franchise since its inception forty years ago, in 1981!
