Fans of the Real Housewives of Atlanta are excited to see Kandi Burruss coming back on the network in a new show. She will star in the new docuseries, Kandi and the Gang. She says that the show will feature a lot more than Vanderpump Rules and one of those things is gay men!
Kandi and the Gang: Kandi Opens Up About the Show
Kandi told fans, “It is so funny because it wasn’t even intentional. It just so happened that they’re really cool people and then cameras came. You just get to see what we already have going on. Our restaurant has always been inclusive.” This show will feature her restaurant, Old Lady Gang, and the LGBTQIA+ employees that work there. Even though her show has been compared to Vanderpump Rules, she has mentioned going to their restaurant and it was pretty good.
Kandi and the Gang: New Bravo Spin-Off With Kandi Burruss
She went on to say, “When I realized that we did something that was different than anybody else was when the commercial for Kandi and the Gang came out. I saw people in the comments saying, ‘Wow, this is dope that they are showing this and I feel included now.’ I was like, ‘Wow.’ We all exist, right? But we’re not necessarily all represented when it comes to television. So come on to Kandi and the Gang. We’re going to make everybody feel right at home.”
Vanderpump Rules has never featured BIPOC and there have been viewers talking about how there is little diversity on the show. Kandi hasn’t seen an episode of the show, but it is her goal to make sure that everyone is represented in the right ways. This new series will celebrate the Black and queer stars in it and Kandi is proud of this! She feels that their personalities are what really makes the place shine! Kandi is happy about all of the friends and family appearing on the show and we cannot wait to check it out.
She points out that one of her servers, Brian is incredibly loveable. “He’s so over-the-top. You can’t help but love Brian. People come to the restaurant to just sit at his table because they love him so much- and that was before there was a camera around. The world is definitely going to love him.
Kandi and the Gang will air on Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
