Alec’s actions of firing a gun while being unaware that it was loaded led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and the injury to the film’s director Joel Souza.
While some legal professionals have suggested that Alec could face charges for manslaughter, Hilaria has decided to back her husband to the hilt.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, she shared a picture of the two locking their hands together. The post was captioned with the following comments: “I love you, and I’m here.”
Hilaria is all too aware of what it is like to go through continual scrutiny at the hands of the media. After all, she faced a barrage of criticism in response to accusations that she was not from Spain which she had originally hinted at.
And during these difficult moments, Alec was by her side in order to make sure that she was fine. Therefore, it is only natural that she would want to do the same.
In an interview with the New York Post, Hilaria spoke on the importance of trying to keep Alec’s mental health in check. She said: “I brought [Alec] up here [getaway] because we have to mourn Halyna’s death.
“Alec had a really traumatic thing happen, and I am trying to limit the PTSD. You look at what happens to soldiers and police officers when something like this happens. It’s traumatic.”
By doing this, Hilaria is hoping that the authorities can carry out their work without the constant speculation surrounding whether Alec will be blamed for it.
And yet, there is a feeling that someone has to be held responsible as otherwise the family of the deceased will always be stuck with many unknown questions.
In the meantime, the couple want to focus on themselves. Hilaria’s following comments confirmed as much: “We just came up here for quiet.”
