Harry and Meghan are Eyeing a Home in Malibu, California. They were checking out an enticing property worth a reported $8 million. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex at present live in a $14 million estate in Montecito.
It will cost them an additional $10 million to develop the land. The beautiful property has a guardhouse at the front and a spacious pool. There are also fountains, six acres of land, and a foundation for a 10,000-square-foot principal residence.
Once the construction of the property is complete, it will be about a $45 million home.
The property also has a sublime view of the crystal blue ocean from their potential future residence. Lucky them.
Meghan and Harry have also looked at homes around Hope Ranch, but the nearby residents were not happy about their drawing attention to the area.
Hope Ranch has a different kind of vibe. It is more of a stable community. No one wants Harry and Meghan there.
Conversely, Malibu is home to many celebrities, including Lady Gaga and Robert Downey Jr.
Harry and Meghan Want to Be Closer to Hollywood
Meghan wants to go back to Hollywood, interact with celebrities, and get some work. Considering the couple’s recent failures, that might be setting the bar too high.
Meghan was only really known to some as the cute lawyer from Suits, and that’s the only noteworthy thing she has done with her career besides marrying a prince.
The Duke and Duchess were recently spotted at Beyonce’s birthday concert in the VIP section.
She is salivating for attention, judging by the photos taken of her at the SoFi stadium with Kelly Rowland and Kerry Washington. Harry and Meghan want to move closer to Hollywood for this purpose.
Rumor has it that Harry and Meghan’s presence in Montecito irritated the residents when the Duke and Duchess’s property was closed to keep people from entering.
The residents apparently had a problem with areas of their community being closed down to accommodate Harry and Meghan. People like their little beach community to be both private and open.
Legit Move or Publicity Stunt?
Harry and Meghan were thought to have all the elements to succeed in the entertainment world. Harry is, after all, royalty, which makes him somewhat interesting.
However, there may be more to their desire to move to Malibu than just the advantage that they will have a fantastic home and a beautiful beach view.
Everyone misjudged how successful the Netflix series Harry and Meghan would be. They were inexperienced as producers and came across as just seeking attention.
They also made a lot of money, but it destroyed their reputation.
Meghan also didn’t have a great reception with her podcast. Part of the deal with podcasting is that you need to be authentic and willing to open up. Megan couldn’t do either.
Rumor has it that the Duke and Duchess are plotting a way for them to return to the entertainment world and succeed.
It may be that living in Montecito isn’t nearly as exciting or close enough to Hollywood.
It could be a fruitless attempt to generate more publicity.
