Justin Chambers, who spent 15 years steaming up screens as Dr. Alex Karev on Grey’s Anatomy has just been made an offer he couldn’t refuse.
In his first role since his very sudden departure from the ABC medical drama, Chambers will be playing screen legend, Marlon Brandon in The Offer, a limited series for Paramount + that details the behind the scenes experience of making what has often been touted as “the best movie of all time”, The Godfather.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Veteran, Justin Chambers to Star as Marlon Brando
From the perspective of producer, Al Ruddy, the series depicts the behind the scenes happenings that went on during the production of the 1972 monstrous hit from director Francis Ford Coppola. Chambers will portray Brando in his Best Actor Oscar winning role of Vito Corleone.
Chambers, playing the “greatest actor of his generation” will be in good company. The Offer also stars Miles Teller ( Whiplash, Top Gun: Maverick, The Divergent Series) as producer, Ruddy Fogler and and Dan Fogler (The Walking Dead, The Goldbergs, Fantastic Beasts series) as Coppola.
Chambers is no slouch himself. Prior to his extremely popular run as ‘evil spawn’ Dr. Karev, he starred in The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez after starting out in soaps with Another World.
Colin Hanks and Lou Ferrigno will also star in The Offer.
The Paramount + ten episode series will mark the 50 year old’s return to screens since he controversially left TV wife Dr. Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington), and audiences high and dry when he left Grey’s Anatomy suddenly and without fanfare, only returning to give a voice over as to why his legacy character was suddenly gone.
Since then he has only been publicly spotted once, just last month and with a bleach blonde ‘do’, dining with Grey’s co-stars Ellen Pompeo (Dr. Meredith Grey) and Eric Dane (Dr. Mark ‘McSteamy’ Sloan).
The Offer is currently in pre-production with a vague 2022 release date attached to the project.
