Only days after Gina Carano was fired from the Disney+ mega hit, ‘The Mandalorian’ for sharing offensive social media posts, the former MMA star has signed a new movie deal with conservative media outlet, The Daily Wire.
While LucasFilms described Carano’s posts—comparing being a republican in 2021 with being Jewish during the Holocaust—as “abhorrent and unacceptable”, Ben Shapiro and his team praised her for refusing to “bow for the mob.”

The Daily Wire is a subscriber based political opinion website that presents ‘news’ that aligns with the conservative right. They present their articles with sensationalized headlines like ‘Democrats Boo God. Then They Quote The Bible To Attack Trump.’
Daily Wire partnered with production company, Bonfire Legend to produce and distribute their first feature-length thriller, ‘Run Hide Fight’, released in January 2021. Rotten Tomatoes rated the film at 23% and Daily Telegraph (UK) critic Robbie Collin was one of many to slam it in their review with Collin saying: “It often feels like an insanely poor-taste experiment”.
Carano made a statement Friday saying, “The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered.”
Shapiro’s statement read, “We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left.
We’re eager to bring Gina’s talent to Americans who love her, and we’re just as eager to show Hollywood that if they want to keep cancelling those who think differently, they’ll just be helping us build the X-wing to take down their Death Star.”
Added Carano, “I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”
Maybe not cancel, but definitely give you a much smaller audience. Like Disney+ shows, you can only watch Daily Wire movies with a subscription.
The Daily Wire currently has just under 2.5 million subscribers where as Disney+ is just shy of 95 million.
