‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that Katelyn MacMullen, who plays Willow Tait on GH, recently dished to Soap Opera Digest on Willow’s arrest and how her character believes that her ex-husband, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), is to blame.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Police Should Have Let The Kids Leave The Room Before Arresting Willow
We have to admit that while we can’t stand Willow, we really weren’t too keen on Willow being arrested in front of her own children.
At the very least, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) could have allowed Michael to take the kids out of the room first.
However, is it simply a coincidence that Michael had arranged for Willow to meet with their children under the supervision of a therapist, and suddenly, Willow is arrested right in front of them?
Hmmm…. The fact that the PCPD found a gun in Willow’s room at Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) home was a bit suspicious. Many fans are convinced that Willow is guilty.
Yet, we aren’t so sure about that. MacMullen also empathized with the way the arrest was handled,
“She was just there soaking up this time with her children, and then the police came through the door.”
The actress described Willow’s thoughts in that moment,
“Why now? I’m with my kids! She’s like, can’t this wait until I’m done hanging out with my kids? Even if you’re here for Michael, can’t you just wait until we’re done here?
MacMullen added,
“It was the last thing she expected and just a total shock. She’s blindsided, devastated, and angry. And she can’t believe they did it in front of the kids!”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Willow Knows Michael Comes From A Family That Isn’t Afraid To Retaliate
Honestly, neither could we. We can only imagine if Willow were still married to Michael, that maybe Dante would have tried to prevent that scenario, especially with those innocent children involved. We’ll never know.
Willow also blames Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) for lying to the police in the first place. Nina gave Willow an obviously false alibi, but it was clear that Willow didn’t appreciate it.
Admittedly, the false alibi did make her look very guilty. The irony of all this is that Willow knew that Michael comes from a family that isn’t afraid to retaliate. She was always worried in the back of her mind that Michael would live up to her worst fears.
MacMullen further explained,
“But she never thought this would happen to her. She heard stories of how he would retaliate in the past, but she never thought it would happen to her.”
It’s like a nightmare come true in Willow’s mind. Right now, Willow’s only hope is Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). He’s willing to further investigate the validity of Michael’s flimsy alibi.
Michael paid a sex worker, Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell), to lie and claim that the two of them had spent the night together on the night Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was shot.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Besides Drew, Chase Is The Only One In Willow’s Corner
Other than Drew, Chase is the only person in Willow’s corner. MacMullen also clarifies that while it may appear shady to the audience that Willow is asking Drew to turn the tables and frame Michael, Willow is legitimately convinced that Michael pulled the trigger.
In Willow’s mind, it can’t be a coincidence that Michael came to Liz’s home to visit her, and suddenly, there is a gun in her room. Plus, the weapon came from Edward Quartermaine’s (John Ingle) personal collection.
In respect to Willow’s current relationship with her ex, Michael, MacMullen shares from Willow’s point of view,
“I know things have gotten really bad between us, but for it to get to this? Like, it has to stop, it’s just gone so far now.”
It’s going to be interesting to see what happens to Willow at the arraignment tomorrow, on October 20th. Spoilers indicate that it’s going to be a major shocker!
