One of the many things ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers love about the show is the near constant duplicity of the characters, and it gets even more fun when the writers get just as bad.
Of course, it’s all done to tell a good story, or take the easy way out with a lazy side quest. Both work depending on how they’re done, and we could be seeing one now.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) being shot and in a coma came at the worst possible time for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Dante was one of the few people Sonny could trust in his family and in general, and now his circle got even smaller.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers love the trope on using a family tragedy to bring a family together.
It’s fun to see it play out, but it’s also overused as it’s the go to method instead of exploring the drama behind a redemption arc or having the parties permanently go their separate ways.
There’s so much untapped potential that’s often left on the table for budgetary reasons and it’s understandable.
In this case, with Dante being shot, it makes Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell)’s instructions to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to being Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) back look genius.
Of course, Sonny won’t want to deal with that right now as he’s got other concerns, but it opens the door.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Only way to forgive Michael and Dex
Since Dex’s return will make him look week, Sonny will have to figure out a way to use him, and that could entail simply saying it was all a ploy to allow Dex to work behind the scenes.
Except he’s not and he’s in the open.
So pushing that issue aside for the moment, we expect Dex will have a chance to save Sonny before Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) shows him what it takes to be Sonny’s right hand man.
In which case, Dex will come out the loser and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will soon follow, but that’s another story.
Almost losing Dante, or losing him depending on the writers, will make Sonny appreciate Micheal more and it’ll open the door for Michael to get a pat on the head instead of a kick in the rear.
It’s going to be a tricky balancing act, but it should be interesting to watch it play out.
