‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers for Thursday, May 23 reveal Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) strikes again—maybe. Meanwhile, we’ll see Ava Jerome (Maura West) continue her abuse of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Also, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) makes a demand. Here’s what you need to know.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers For Thursday, May 23: Progress?
First, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Carly stonewalls Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Now, this could be about her visit with Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) again. However, there are a couple of things that point to her trying to help Sonny.
One is the fact Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) visits Anna and talks about tarnishing the badge before he gets it. And he did seem to be ready to report Sonny’s assault on him, with Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Kate Mansi) support, no less. But there’s something else.
In the promo, we see Carly visits Sonny and asks what he’s going to do when he runs out of traitors. We’re glad she sounds a bit less aggressive than she has been, so we’re hopeful she’ll try gently taking sense into Sonny.
While we do think he’s right about being betrayed (more on that later), we also know his meds are off now, so that likely does play into Sonny’s interpretation of what happened/is happening.
Hopefully, this will lead to Sonny getting tested and finally bring the beginning of the end to this “get Sonny” era. It’s really gotten out of hand, and it’s actually uncomfortable to see how the writers are systematically taking everyone away at the worst possible moment.

Elsewhere, Alexis has her day in court. She demands Fergus Byrne (Lane Davies) proves something by giving the name of her accuser. We wouldn’t be one bit surprised if he’s actually the accuser, but we’ll see. He certainly isn’t a fan of Alexis! Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) is right when she said he’s biased and shouldn’t be anywhere near this.

In other ‘General Hospital’ spoilers, Ava offers sympathy to Sonny. Which is exactly what we were talking about with this uncomfortable story. Sonny is mentally ill and being isolated with a person who knows his meds are being messed with and not telling him the truth. That’s sick and abusive. It’s also a disaster waiting to happen and she can’t see it.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers For Thursday, May 23: Kristina shares her fears
Finally, Kristina shares her fears. She believes that she’s just as guilty in her own way. We assume she means Sonny’s crimes if she doesn’t support Dex taking action against Sonny and testify against him.
Because now her eyes are open and it’s the right thing to do. And we have officially had everyone turn their backs on Sonny, including Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). We wonder if that’s going to change back with the new writing team.
We wonder also if this writing situation is going to turn into a Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) situation where they will have to change one more time after that to finally get all this twisted and changed history back on track.
We do see some hope of a change with Carly’s recent behavior. She was concerned, kind, and gave some good advice when she spoke to Sonny after the reception.
