‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers have been joining with a good number of fans in our desire to have the old writers back or even better, the replacement writers.
There have been so many character changes, tweaks to history, and strange changes during the show’s soft reboot that it’s hard to know what to expect, and it’s not a good thing.
When it comes to making a show exciting, not knowing what’s coming because a storyline is well done is key, having us not know because it feels like things are being thrown against the wall to see if they stick isn’t the best way to keep our attention.
One of those character changes they made was to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) as she’s joined Laura Collins (Genie Francis) to turn on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dante Falconeri Gives in to Anna’s Gaslighting to Stay on the Force
The sudden realization of what Sonny does is the weakest reasoning they could come up with since they all knew it, and the fact that Sonny send Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) after Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) as their reason really cinches the lazy writing.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Forgotten history
Even when ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers looks past the different perspectives, the one thing Anna and Laura seem to be forgetting is that Cyrus is why Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) is in a coma along with his other misdeeds like how he got released from prison.
He’s the reason they’re turning on a lifelong friend and it doesn’t make sense, and with Anna under the delusion that being a police officer is the only thing that can keep Dex and now when Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) safe adds to the bizarro land feel.
Anna is perhaps the worst out of the two as she purposely gaslights anyone she needs to into doing what she wants or needs them to do.
Dante is the latest as she pulled out every trick to keep him on the police force and it robbed us of a great chance to see what else he would do, like maybe become a private investigator.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Relentless attack
We have a feeling things will only get worse as it’s being set up that all of this is in Sonny’s head because of his medication being messed with, despite how everyone betrayed or turned on him before that happened.
While Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has refused to grow and thinks Sonny’s mental for continuing to expand his life, she will get an ego boost when the truth about his meds comes out.
As for Anna and Laura, maybe the writers are trying to go with them having breakdowns of their own, especially Anna since she’s going above and beyond to find a way to arrest Sonny.
It could be argued that she’s taking out her frustration with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) on Sonny, but she’s better than that. At least she was with other writers.
