Maybe it’s his dental work that got in the way? There’s a new report that says Friends star Matthew Perry is single again. That’s because he and his model fiancé Molly Hurwitz have broken off their engagement after only seven months together. Here’s what you need to know.
It was Matthew himself who confirmed the news to People Magazine. He gave the publication a statement that said, “Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best.”
The couple first got engaged in November of last year. At the time Matthew called the 29-year-old “the greatest woman on the face of the planet.”

The break up comes shortly after many fans took to their social media accounts to express their concern over the star, who didn’t look his best during the most recent Friends Reunion special on HBO Max. In fact, some teaser trailers even saw him slurring his words, prompting a lot of people to wonder whether or not he had relapsed.
Matthew, who is best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the show, at one point talked about taking pieces from the set of Friends as souvenirs. “I stole the cookie jar that had the clock on it,” he said, with a “sh” appearing to be pronounced at the beginning of the phrase.
But one source close to the actor says that the slurring was a result of some dental work he had done prior to taping.
“Matthew turned up to the reunion [in April] and members of his team said that he had an emergency tooth procedure that day,” one source told Britain’s The Sun. “That was said to impact his wellbeing and also how he was feeling.”
“He had been in pain from what we understand, which caused the slurred speech,” they continued. “Obviously no one wants to film after a procedure, but it happened. The feeling was one of huge sympathy for Matthew, especially in recent days given how people have reacted online. Matthew has told those around him that he is sober, and there is no need to worry.”
