Halac initially competed as Bruiser Mastino in the Catch Wrestling Association before joining the World Wrestling Federation as Mantaur. His portrayal of the half-man/half-beast Minotaur character suited his 400-pound physique.
Despite his battle with diabetes, which he openly discussed, Halac continued to wrestle until 2019. Wrestler Paul Neu, also known as P.N. News, paid a heartfelt tribute to his tag partner, friend, and brother in every sense except blood.
Neu expressed the pain of this loss and his deep affection for Halac, highlighting their occasional conflicts but ultimate reconciliation. He concluded by stating that Halac will be missed and sending blessings to his soul until they meet again.
