When Covid-19 impacted Donald Trump in 2019, former British Health Secretary Matt Hancock had to resist the urge to tell him to take his own advice and ‘drink bleach.’

In Hancock’s book, ‘The Pandemic Diaries: The Inside Story of Britain’s Battle Against Covid,’ he directs a series of biting jibes at Trump and his outlandish Covid assertions. He branded the former US President as ‘an awful, awful man’ and a ‘plonker’ for his failure to get to grips with the pandemic.

Not only that, but he questioned his alleged support for the use of malaria medicine to fight Covid. In his book, he wrote: “President Trump has randomly and dangerously declared that hydroxychloroquine is an effective treatment for Covid, despite a total absence of the evidence.

“What an awful, awful man.” Thereafter, further claims emerged that bleach could be used to treat people with Covid. Hancock confessed to being ‘desperate’ for Joe Biden to become president. And as Biden was finally elected the 46th president, Mr Hancock took measures by ‘celebrating’ with a cup of tea.

He added: “Biden has done it! I heard the news as I turned the radio on in the kitchen, before the rest of the family had got up. I lay on the sofa and somewhat to my own surprise, I burst into tears of relief. Finally an end to the Trump madness.”

The fans on social media, though, were equally as hostile towards Hancock. This was on the basis that he had not covered himself in glory in breaking covid guidelines during his time as Health Secretary, which was notoriously characterised by his affair being exposed to the media.

One person wrote: “Sorry but that’s rich coming from…@MattHancock even though Trump is a tw*t we don’t need to hear it from a despicable leech.”

It is fair to say that Trump and Hancock are not the most popular people. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
