A family went into panic mode after a rat emerged from under a Christmas tree, and an air rifle was grabbed to shoot it.
Family Respond By Shooting Rat With Air Rifle After It Found Refuge In Their Christmas Tree
An unidentified creature was spotted wreaking havoc on their Christmas lights and decorations while they were having a family evening in the living room. The family’s living room became the path of a brown-gray rodent hurling through the branches in a rush for the family’s kitchen.
Footage of the family’s cat chasing after the rat – and nearly catching it – saw screeching fill the room as the two animals’ paths crossed. In the video here, we can see the family supporting their pet as it nearly runs into the rat in the house. This close encounter was enough to keep the rat from entering any further.
The rat narrowly escaped the cat’s grasp then dashed back towards the Christmas tree, where it hid among the branches, believing himself to be safe. However, the parents armed themselves with weapons to fight the invasive rodent.
The father tried to knock the rat down with a broom, while the mother took shots at it with an air rifle. She crouches down low and aims carefully before crying triumphantly, as she hits it in the neck.
The video instantly went viral with over 4 million views and counting. With that being said, people had a lot to say on the matter. A significant proportion of people praised the couple for managing to keep their calm and make sure that everything was fine for the sake of their family.
After all, they could have easily become overwhelmed by this. One person wrote: “Baby crying in the back, the Melissa and Doug, the neck shot. This was the best version of Xmas story I’ve ever seen.”
