“Saturday Night Live” cast members won’t be forced to appear alongside controversial billionaire Elon Musk when he hosts the show. The Tesla founder is set to host the show on May 8th, but some cast members have made it clear that they’re not thrilled to be hosting him on stage at Studio 8H.
Musk made a tweet that said, “Let’s find out just how live Saturday Night Live really is.” ‘SNL’ cast member Bowen Yang wrote back, “What the f–k does that even mean?”
It seems that a lot of the cast doesn’t like Musk in fact, as several of them posted on social media digs at the CEO, including ‘Weekend Update’ host Michael Che, cast member Aidy Bryant and writer Andrew Dismukes.
Elon Musk Too “Controversial” For SNL | Cardi B Fits Right In Though?
The baffling part of this is that they all welcomed rapper Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar , known professionally as Cardi B in with open arms after she admitted to drugging and robbing men before she was famous. Apparently, being a millionaire CEO is more a crime than actually committing crimes.
We’ve gotten to a point in time where even ‘SNL’, where we should all go for laughs and forget about our long workweek is now turning into a melting pot of political ideology and odd moral quandaries.
If you can have no issues with a person who admitted to committing crimes, why do you have an issue with a person like Elon Musk, who has arguably done more for the world than Cardi B, albeit maybe having a few opinions along the way, but Cardi B doesn’t have strong opinions? No, it’s just that they happen to agree with hers and won’t even work alongside someone who differs from them.
Democrat. Republican. Left. Right. Young. Old. Smart. Dumb. Rich. Poor. ‘SNL’ used to be a show where everyone could tune in and share a laugh, and they arguably still have some funny comedians, but where is this heading?
