Ellen DeGeneres once called Steve Jobs to complain about the font size of her iPhone. A former associate producer recalled being called into the controversial talk show’s office several years ago when she lost her glasses and couldn’t read a text on her iPhone.
Rather than adjust the font setting herself, Ellen decided to give the Apple CEO a phone call instead. Here’s what you need to know.
“She stopped everything and made a call,” the producer told Page Six earlier this year. “Next thing we know, we literally hear [Apple CEO] Steve Jobs pick up and say, ‘Hi, Ellen’ … Ellen told him the iPhone should have a bigger font. That’s her. It’s not that she’s some demon. She just lives in an incredibly privileged bubble and is out of touch with the real world.”

This comes after several people have come forward to brand Ellen as one of the biggest divas in the television industry. One former executive producer from the Ellen DeGeneres Show says that lecturing everyone to be nice all the time might have backfired on her, seeing how no one is really like that in real life.
What’s more, Ellen’s rise to fame might also have something to do with her sour attitude, especially now that she’s reached the same kind of mega-stardom that someone like Oprah Winfrey has.
“It hasn’t been handed to them,” she said. “They’ve had everything possible thrown at them. Just think of everyone who laughed at them and said ‘You’re too fat,’ ‘You’re too black,’ ‘You’re too gay’ — but they went ahead anyway. There has to be some underlying damage in there that never gets smoothed out.”
