EastEnders news has revealed that the famous BBC soap has begun re-filming after a break of nearly three months. The biggest news to come from the soap’s return was that Jessie Wallace was back on set for the first time six months. The actress that plays Kat Slater was hit with a suspension by bosses after she was reportedly drinking while on set.

Fans were pleased to see Slater back on set, and she cut a relaxed looking figure as she drove into the show’s set. She was wearing sun glasses at the gate, as the security on the way in checked her temperature. The measure is part of the response from the soap to combat the risk of coronavirus.

Slater’s return will certainly be a huge boost for the soap, as they have missed out on nominations for various upcoming awards ceremonies. Her character is one of the most instantly recognisable in the world of soap, as he has played Kat for the best part of 20 years.

Slater wasn’t the only star back in Walford to return to filming, with Danny Dyer and Adam Woodyatt also returning. Fans were left disappointed a number of weeks ago as the soap ran out of episodes to broadcast, but plans have already been outlined about how the soap will return. Bosses have already confirmed that episode will only be 20 minutes when EastEnders does return.

EastEnders News: Measure In Place During Filming

The temperature checks on the door were just one of the measures in place on the set, with bosses also adhering to the social distancing measures that have been in place for the last couple of months. These measures means that characters can not get within two metres of each other.

Jake Wood has already revealed that the process is pretty tricky for the actors, actresses and production teams. But, he did reveal that they are using new filming methods to ensure that the viewing experience isn’t too different than what it was before lockdown.
