Dwayne Johnson may be known for being one of the biggest Hollywood stars around, but he still manages to find time to give back to the community.
Dwayne Johnson Facetimes Five-Year-Old Fan Suffering From A Brain Tumour
And this was no exception. The actor had decided to personally call a five-year-old by the name of Jett who had been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Specifically, the boy had been suffering with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). The result of this is that it can hinder the person’s mobility as well as breathing.
That is why in order to bring a smile to his face, Dwayne decided to facetime him. During the conversation, ‘The Rock’ had apparently stated the following: “Jett, I want you to know buddy it’s so good meeting you.
“I’ve heard so much about you, and I’ve heard the most amazing things about you. Honestly, it’s the best part of my day.” Things understandably got very emotional.
The actor is well capable of keeping his emotions in check by virtue of the fact that he has starred in some major Hollywood movies. But this time around, however, Dwayne struggled to keep himself together.
A combination of Jett’s bravery, as well as his parents’ desire to make sure that he was going to make a full recovery really struck a chord with him.
He added: “And usually I have my s— together – usually I’m strong in the moment. Strong for the kids and the parents. I keep it together.
“But this time when I was telling Jett’s mommy and daddy, Larisa and Manny how special their son is…I just had to pause.”
The main reason why Dwayne may have felt this, even more, was due to the fact that the timing of the phone call happened while the actor was flying home to see his own daughter.
As such, he understood the heartbreak that can emerge when your child is suffering. But knowing that there are such brave parents out there, it inspired Dwanye to become the best parent that he can be.
