Talk about a burn and in the worst way, too. There’s a new report that says Dr. Dre was served with divorce papers in perhaps the worst place imaginable: his grandmother’s funeral.
According to reports, Dr. Drew got into a dispute with a court process server who tried to give him the legal docs while he was mourning the loss of his beloved grandmother. Here’s what you need to know.

Page Six reports that Dr. Dre’s estranged wife, Nicole Young, made his grandmother’s funeral a whole lot memorable – or not – when she decided that would be the best way to get Dr. Dre’s attention. Apparently, a process server was trying to give Dr. Dre his divorce papers while he was standing next to his grandmother’s casket.
Needless to say, Dre was completely furious over the matter. He would not take the court papers in hands. This forced the process server to drop the documents either by the gravesite or in the parking lot.
Over the summer, it was reported that the hip-hop mogul was ordered to pay Nicole Young about $3.5 million in yearly support. This comes to about a monthly sum of $293,306, which adds up to $3,519,672 in yearly support. Per their divorce documents, payments will continue “in a like manner until the party receiving support remarries or enters into a new domestic partnership, death of either party or until further order of the court.”
A source close to the situation told ET, “The support order is consistent with what he has already been paying since the initial separation and is a fraction of what Nicole and her lawyers demanded.”
Nicole pulled the plug on their marriage in June 2020 citing irreconcilable differences and seeking spousal support. The couple, who married in 1996, have two children together: 23-year-old son Truice and 19-year-old daughter Truly.
