‘Doubling Down with the Derrico’ Spoilers finds that Grandma GG had previously promised to take Darian out shopping to get an outfit for her birthday, and Darian gladly went with. However, that wasn’t the real reason she wanted some one-on-one time with GG, she actually wanted to ask her a very important question – and that was “Is Mommy pregnant?”
Of course GG played dumb at first, pretending not to know what Darian was talking about, but it’s clear to see that Darian is a smart cookie and has noticed that Karen is nauseous and eating more. GG wanted to tell Darian that she was right, but, she feigned ignorance and told her to ask her Mom about it and then come and tell GG what was going on.

She said that as a Grandmother, it isn’t her place to tell Darian whether or not Karen is pregnant. Now, that’s an interesting and very wise move all things considered. This is where the Derrico’s differ from most of the big families we’ve seen on TLC, they seem to have a far more healthy, boundary-filled family dynamic than most.
I have no doubt that the other large families that we see on the network would have had Grandma spilling the beans proudly, but not GG. That’s a surprisingly refreshing and welcome move from her.
Darian also told her something surprising, and not something you would expect from a 13 year old at all, she said that if Karen is indeed pregnant that she would be happy because she actually wants another sibling – as long as they can stay a baby.
Of course GG told her that that couldn’t happen, all babies grow up, but it’s a cute thought. This is really sweet coming from a teenager, most teenagers wouldn’t be wanting another sibling at Darian’s age, but it’s clear to see that Darian’s different.
She seems to be subscribing to her Dad’s mentality more than Grandma GG’s, which I think surprised GG a bit. But we’ll see how long this lasts, things might get a little trickier as Darian grows a little older, and maybe starts hanging out with more people her age. But who knows? Stay tuned!!!
